Fitting Together Some Pieces of the Puzzle

Something happened this past week that really excited me for family history.  I went to the Family History Center in the basement of the library (Awesome place, by the way) and set to work on my family's history.  At first, it was slow because I was connecting all of my family to myself on new family search.  After about an hour of finally getting the names that are available within a few generations, I was able to search for those names that we were lacking.
It was great because soon I found a child of one of my relatives.  It showed his birth date, but it was italicized because no one had put his death date.  I think that whenever that line was done, he was still alive since he died within the last ten years.  I was excited to find him.  After a little bit of searching through all the wonderful databases that BYU subscribes to, I was able to find some historical articles on him and his death and his wife.
I quickly entered his death into new family search, and I discovered that none of his work had been done and that they could not find any possible duplicates of him.  I was so ecstatic!  He was the first name that I discovered, which will lead me to more.
I also found that the guy who originally entered in all of those names on my family's side may still be alive and likely related to us.  He just did not know about another daughter on that line (my great grandmother) because she is still alive even though she recently turned 100.  I hope to get into contact and meet this man that has worked so hard and on so many of my family's names!  Family history is wonderful, and I can definitely feel the hands of Elijah in the work that I do for my ancestors.
